Ed Carpenter (Sarah Fischer Racing) finally won in Kentucky by beating Dario Franchitti (Target Chip Gnassi racing) to the finish line after a sumptuous duel between the two drivers. The Scot failed by nine thousandths but regained the lead of the Championship, Will Power (Team Penske) only classifying 19th after contact with Ana Beatriz (Dreyer & Reinbold Racing) in the pits.
Scott Dicon (Target Chip Ganassi Racing) completes the top three ahead of James Hinchcliffe (Newman/Haas Racing) and Ryan Hunter-Reay (Andretti Autosport).
