After two seasons ofIndyCar under the colors of Team Andretti and a third at Newman-Haas in 2010, the Japanese Hideki Mutoh returned to the country. This season he will compete in the Super GT championship on behalf of Honda within the former driver's team. F1 Aguri Suzuki. Among his opponents in Super GT, Mutoh will find the French on his trajectory Loïc duval (reigning champion with Honda) and Benoît Tréluyer at Nissan.
Mutoh left IndyCar, the 2011 grid of the North American championship now only has one Japanese driver in the person of Takuma Sato at KV Racing.
