Last weekend, at the Barber circuit in Birmingham (Alabama), Tristan Vautier took his first victory of the season during the second round of Star Mazda. The French, repeating in this discipline (a sort of F3 US), had already shone in qualifying, taking pole position. In the race, he got off to a good start and was never threatened, relieving his tires at the start of the race to attack until the end. As a result, he crossed the line 39 seconds ahead of his closest pursuer, Nick Andries, lap record in his pocket. Already on the podium two weeks ago in Saint Petersburg, Tristan took the opportunity to take control of the championship which he leads with 12 points ahead of Connor de Philippi, the winner of the opening event.

The next round will take place on May 28 in Indianapolis, on the Lucas Oil Raceway oval, the day before the 500 miles. He will then move on to two other ovals, the Milwaukee Mile and the Iowa Speedway. “ I still have a lot to learn on this type of track and I'm looking forward to it “, he told us.
