Will Power (team Penske), who showed himself to his advantage at the start of the season on the road circuits, returns to form in Iowa, on an oval. The Australian was the fastest in qualifying and will therefore start on pole for the Iowa Corn Indy 250. He will start ahead of Scott Dixon (Target Chip Ganassi Racing), Marco Andretti (Andretti Autosport), Helio Castroneves (team Penske) and Dario Franchitti (Target Chip Ganassi Racing).
