Josh Pierson's intention is to take part in the championship by 2025. To do this, he will benefit from close support from Ed Carpenter Racing, led by his eponymous boss-driver, Ed Carpenter.
The United Autosports driver in WEC, and youngest participant in 24 Hours of Le Mans (in 2022 in LM P2, 10th) will compete in 2023 and 2024 in Indy NXT, the new name of Indy Lights, the antechamber of IndyCar. Josh Pierson will be content with a partial program the first year within the HMD Motorsports team, before taking part in all rounds the following year.
“I really enjoyed getting to know Josh Pierson and his family, commented Ed Carpenter. For someone so young, he has already accomplished so much in his racing career. In addition, he is a well-spoken and very professional person. I am confident that with the plan we have in place, he will become a complete racing driver. We look forward to working with him to finalize his journey to IndyCar starting in 2025.”
