Cancelled race in Australia will not be replaced

It was almost to be expected given the schedule and the additional logistics it would create in an already very busy season. But Formula Motorsport Limited, promoter of the Formula 2, has indeed confirmed that Main Race cancelled in Australia due to weather conditions will not be replaced.

« Are we going to replace this breed? No, I don't think so., assured Bruno Michel, head of FML. That's how it is and at the end of the day we have 14 weekends with two races per weekend, so it's not going to make a huge difference. »

The cancellation of the Main Race was a disaster for Joshua Dürksen (AIX Racing), winner of the Sprint Race the day before and the championship leader. Victor Martins (ART Grand Prix) was unfortunately unable to capitalize on his pole position, leaving with only the two points it earned.
