Jay Frye takes over from Steve Eriksen, who has been the team's president and CEO since 2023. By becoming president of RLL Racing, Frye will be in charge of the teams ofIndyCar andIMSA, the latter notably involving BMWs in the GTP category. He will report directly to the three owners of the team, Bobby Rahal, David Letterman and Mike Lanigan. On the IndyCar side, this former driver of the program Red Bull en NASCAR will also have work to do, including a necessary improvement in performance at the Indianapolis 500, where RLL has gone from winning with Takuma Sato to not qualifying with Graham Rahal in four years.

Frye, who was replaced by Doug Boles as IndyCar boss in February, isn't the first "old boss" to find a job in the paddock. Brian Barnhart, who spent 20 years as vice president of operations and race director, is now a general manager at Arrow. McLaren and strategist of car No. 7, driven by Christian Lundgaard.
