A rare situation was observed at Spa-Francorchamps this Saturday morning. Divided into two groups, the FRECA qualifying sessions are organized into two 20-minute runs. The first in each group normally inherits the front row, while the rest of the grid is determined by the times set regularly.

However, while half of the qualifying had taken place for Group A, and no significant time had yet been established, Saqer Al Maosherji (AKCEL GP), hit the barrier wall, causing significant damage to his car, on the right side. Of course, the Kuwaiti driver was unable to continue the session. Also damaged, the barrier did not appear to be in a satisfactory enough condition to allow the session to resume. While the other series were scheduled to take to the track throughout the day, race control ultimately decided to cancel the session.

The starting grid for the first race of the weekend is thus determined by the result of the first practice session held on Friday. Freddie Slater will start from pole position for the second time in three races. The Briton will be followed by Frenchman Enzo Deligny, who finished second, and thus posted his best performance to date. Evan Giltaire, one of the season's favorites, will start fifth.
