Ai Ogura disqualified from the Argentine Grand Prix

Eighth at the finish in Termas de Río Hondo, Ogura thus loses the points for his finishing position, and drops to eighth position in the championship. The Trackhouse team has not commented on the decision taken by MotoGP following the second round of the season. The MotoGP electronic control unit is common to all bikes in the championship. Ai Ogura's #79 Aprilia therefore had a different version than the one homologated for the 2025 season. As the violation was technical, disqualification is the only possible sanction.

However, it is highly unlikely that the Aprilia's version gave the Japanese rider any advantage over his rivals. The reigning Moto2 world champion had staged a superb comeback two weeks after a dazzling debut at the Thailand Grand Prix.
