Argentina – EL3: Final tests between the drops

Pecco Bagnaia salutes you © Michelin

Caution is required for these 30 minutes of free practice on a track still damp from the showers that fell earlier in the morning. The goal was only to get your bearings before the qualifications which immediately followed this last session without challenges. The Moto2 riders who passed just before the premier category machines concluded their session 1,5 seconds off their best times from Friday, progressing over the laps, proof that the track was drying out.

It was interesting in the first minutes to see the drivers riding as a group for the first time this weekend. These last tests are an opportunity to check the behavior of the motorcycle in the aspiration of other machines. Marco Bezzechi and Pecco Bagnaia, the two friends from the VR46 sector, engaged in a little fight on the track to the great pleasure of the spectators... a little less that of their team leaders. These pilots are big kids!

Mid-session, the white flag with a red cross was waved indicating to the driver a change in grip. A few drops of rain were indeed appearing on the Argentinian circuit. Always cautious, most of the drivers returned to their pits wisely. Bad news for fabio quartararo who was losing valuable working time before qualifying.

In form, Francesco Bagnaia set the best time ahead of Marco Bezzechi and Alex Rins while the rain intensified.
