Jerez de la Frontera traditionally hosts the first day of testing. MotoGP organized in the wake of a Grand Prix. The regular riders, as well as some testers, have been hard at work since this morning to maintain their lead in the case of Ducati, and to catch up with the Italian brand for all the other manufacturers! One rider is missing, however, Franco Morbidelli.
The VR46 driver had to withdraw from this day of testing due to his crash on Sunday. The Italian recovered with a cervical contusion, and to avoid further damage, the decision was made with his team to rest him. The goal, of course, is for Morbidelli to be fully recovered for the French Grand Prix at Le Mans, from May 9 to 11. As such, only Fabio Di Giannantonio will be representing the "Doctor" team on the Andalusian track this Monday.
After five Grands Prix, Franco Morbidelli is in fifth place in the world championship, just ahead of his teammate.
