The Italian suffered a mishap during Q1 when he suffered a highside. While he was able to stay on his Aprilia RS-GP, Savadori dislocated his left shoulder. During Saturday's sprint, the #32 driver returned to the pits on his own before the end of the race, as the pain was too intense. With the doctors' approval, he took part in Sunday morning's warm-up to test his fitness following his injury.
Following this short practice session, Lorenzo Savadori has decided not to take part in Sunday evening's Grand Prix (19 p.m. French time). This means that only twenty bikes will line up on the starting grid, since Pramac Yamaha rider Miguel Oliveira was also forced to withdraw. The Portuguese rider is also suffering from a left shoulder injury after a crash caused by Fermín Aldeguer during the Sprint.
It remains to be seen whether Savadori will be able to take part in the Grand Prix of the Americas in two weeks in Austin, Texas. Jorge Martín has already announced that he will not be able to return to competition before the fourth GP of the year in Qatar.
