Moto2 rider Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Ajo) suffered a fractured femur following a fall while motocross. The Spaniard has to undergo an operation and will be out for the next few weeks.

Moto2 – Pedro Acosta victim of a fractured femur

It’s a setback for the young Spanish Moto2 nugget. Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Ajo) fractured his left leg during motocross training on Tuesday. A fracture of the femur more precisely and which requires surgery. The 18-year-old driver must be operated on during the day on Wednesday at the Dexeus Clinic in Barcelona.

The reigning Moto3 champion is one of the main attractions of the Moto2 season. Considered one of the most promising prospects, he notably won his first race in the category during the Italian Grand Prix on May 29. Currently 8th in the Moto2 championship with 75 points, he remains in 2nd place during the last event, at the Sachsenring.

Pedro Acosta will therefore not participate in the next Grand Prix, in Assen (June 24-26). He could return for the British Grand Prix in early August, after the summer break.
