This was confirmed this morning during the traditional press conference preceding the French Grand Prix. MotoGP, the latter will remain on the calendar until 2031. This will therefore mark more than thirty years of uninterrupted presence of motorcycle speed on the Bugatti Circuit of Le Mans, the world championship having set up camp in Sarthe in 2000. Voted "best Grand Prix of the year" in 2022, the French GP continues to break records, with more than 297 spectators over the three days last year. Will the 000 mark be able to be crossed in future editions? Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports, the company that owns the commercial rights to MotoGP, is delighted with the contract extension he has signed with the teams of Claude Michy, promoter of the Grand Prix. The Spaniard goes so far as to self-proclaim the May race "the biggest sporting event in France".
“France has an incredible motorsport heritage, and we’re proud that the Grand de France Moto has contributed to this, while also attracting a new audience to the event, the region, and the sport itself. We’ve become the biggest sporting event in France, and these packed stands reflect that growing enthusiasm. France is a vital market for us, and we couldn’t have dreamed of a better opportunity than to work with PHA Claude Michy.”
The 2025 edition of the MotoGP French Grand Prix will take place on May 9, 10 and 11, and the 2026 and 2031 editions will more than likely be held on similar dates, which have been synonymous with popular success in Sarthe for many years.
