Still diminished by his fall at the Sachsenring last week, Pol Espargaro prefers to say stop for this weekend. The Honda driver was forced to retire in Germany 8 laps from the finish after an accident. But the pain in the sides persisted on Friday in the Netherlands. On the Assen route, the Spaniard did not expect to suffer so much. Anti-inflammatories couldn't change anything. After giving himself a day of observation and two test sessions, Pol Espargaro therefore prefers to end his race weekend at Assen.
Espargaro to miss the Dutch GP
Due to the continued pain caused by the injuries sustained in Germany, @polespargaro will not race in Assen.
We wish Pol a speedy recovery and we'll see him in Silverstone.https://t.co/g4bXUAhf4B

« After Friday's second free practice session, Espargaro was still suffering from severe pain and discomfort. He therefore believes that he is not able to ride a motorcycle and has decided, with the Repsol Honda team, not to participate in the Assen race. The Repsol Honda team looks forward to welcoming a fully fit Pol Espargaro to Silverstone after the summer break », explained the Repsol Honda team in a statement. Pol Espargaro will therefore find his motorcycle in England in more than a month (August 7) after the summer break.
