At the start of the day, fabio quartararo made his mark this Spanish weekend. Poleman, the 2021 world champion, set the fastest time ahead of Marc Márquez by a few thousandths of a second, having already managed to set a solid time, synonymous with the front row, just moments earlier.
At the start of the sprint, the Frenchman had managed to do the hardest part of the race. Managing to keep Márquez behind him for just over a lap, Quartararo tried to hold on, delaying his braking as much as possible at the start of the second lap. Much faster, the World Championship leader forced the Yamaha rider into a mistake, forcing him to negotiate the corner off-line after his error.
Despite his crash, El Diablo appeared smiling in his team's garage just minutes after the unfortunate incident. While preparing to start at the front this Sunday, the Frenchman nevertheless saw two other crashes occur. Indeed, the other Frenchman on the grid, Johann Zarco, and Australian Jack Miller, also equipped with Yamaha, did not see the checkered flag in this sprint.
