Fabio Quartararo has retired from the Dutch Grand Prix after crashing twice at Turn 5 at the Assen circuit.

fabio quartararo crashed on the 5th lap of the Dutch Grand Prix and did not will not sign a 4th victory in a row. Then in third position in the event on the Assen circuit, behind Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) and Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia), the Frenchman, leader in the world championship, made an error with serious consequences. The Yamaha rider tried to get on the inside of the Spaniard at turn 5, but he lost the front of his bike and hit that of Espargaro. The Aprilia rider was relegated to 14th place. As for the Frenchman, he was dead last, and was now one lap behind leader Francesco Bagnaia. The incident will also be the subject of an investigation by the race commissioners, once the Dutch Grand Prix has concluded.

While Fabio Quartararo returned to the pit lane, visibly embarrassed by the behavior of his Yamaha after his fall, his misadventures continued on the Assen track. On the 10th lap, and still at turn 5, the Niçois lost control and was thrown over the handlebars of his mount, falling heavily on the tarmac. Forced to retire for the first time this season, Fabio Quartararo will have to quickly digest this disappointment to return to his best level following the summer break, and at the British GP on August 7.
