Chris Buescher extends his contract with RFK Racing

The Prosper, Texas native will continue driving the No. 17 Ford Mustang for the next few seasons after signing a multi-year contract, as announced by the team on Tuesday, June 16.
“RFK Racing has been my home base for most of my racing career, and that’s something I don’t take for granted.”Buescher said in a statement from the team. “I grew up within this organization, and I’m extremely proud of what we’ve built together over the past few years. The direction we’re taking, the people who make up our team, and the commitment of the entire company make me optimistic about the future. I’m grateful to Mr. Jack (Roush), Brad (Keselowski), Fenway Sports Group, and everyone at RFK Racing for the trust they’ve placed in me. I look forward to continuing to chase wins and titles with them.”
While he missed the playoffs the past two seasons under the unusual format that granted each race winner a spot among the 16 drivers eligible to compete for the title at the end of the season, the return of the "Chase" format, based solely on accumulated points, could very well benefit one of the most consistent drivers in the NASCAR paddock. Buescher is currently seventh in the championship standings, with two top-five finishes and eight top-ten finishes in 16 races.
