Andreas Mikkelsen at the start of the Azores Rally

Forgotten by the 2023 transfer market and without a real defined program for the season, Andreas Mikkelsen is still looking to remain active. The 33-year-old Norwegian has already announced his desire to take part in certain rounds of WRC2 in order to measure himself against the best in the category and thus affirm that he is among the fastest candidates outside of Rally1.

To keep up the pace, he took part in the Qatar International Rally where he finished 3e. He will soon be at the start of rally of the Azores (March 31-April 1), an event that he discovered in 2010 and that he loves. Winner in 2021, he will return this year to the archipelago at the wheel of a Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 from the Toksport team.

Not retained by the promoter of theERC, this emblematic round has integrated the TER championship of which it will constitute the 3e appointment. 12 special stages are scheduled for 109,32 km timed.
