  • Fifth special of the Rally Canary Islands, fifth special victory for Kalle Rovanperä and five Toyota leading the general classification! The double world champion continues his glorious run and is still undefeated this Friday, with a perfect score of five scratchs in five special stages! The Finn set a new best time in SS5 in 8'55″5 ahead of Elfyn Evans (+2″4) and Sébastien Ogier (+2″8).
  • In the overall standings, the Nordic rider extends his lead to 25 seconds ahead of the eight-time world champion, a nice cushion built up throughout the day and special stage victories. Elfyn Evans, the current championship leader, is half a minute behind his teammate in 1rd place overall.
  • A general classification largely dominated by the Toyota Yaris Rally1 which now dominates the top five places of the Canary Islands Rally, with Sami Pajari 4th (+50″2) and Takamoto Katsuta 5th (+58″1). The Japanese took the advantage against Adrien fourmaux (+59″0), relegated to 6th place overall. The Frenchman is in more difficulty than this morning with his Hyundai : "Nothing to say. I'm just slow.", he noted at the finish of ES5. His teammates, Ott Tänak et Thierry Neuville, are now more than a minute behind Kalle Rovanperä.
  • In WRC2, Yohan Rossel still leads the category after five stages. Like Kalle Rovanperä, the Frenchman has won every stage so far. Oliver Solberg, who is not eligible for points this weekend, encountered a transmission issue at the start of SS5 and lost more than a minute and a half.
