Kalle Rovanperä has claimed an eighth stage win in eight stages on the Canary Islands Rally and continues his fantastic ride in Gran Canaria, despite Sébastien Ogier's attack.

But who can stop Kalle Rovanperä in Gran Canaria? The Finn is racking up special stage victories and is still undefeated this weekend on the Rally of the Canary Islands! The double world champion achieved an eighth scratch in as many special stages contested since Friday morning. As in SS7, the driver Toyota waited until the end of SS8 to make the difference against Sébastien Ogier and Elfyn Evans, who finished less than a second behind their teammate.
On this relatively short special (13,75 km), on new and therefore smooth asphalt, the Hyundai suffered less than usual. Thus, behind the fast Toyotas, Adrien fourmaux only lost 3 seconds on this special stage and even finished ahead of Takamoto Katsuta. Overall, the Northerner remains in contact with the Japanese in the fight for 7th place with a gap of only 5 seconds.
