Croatia – Neuville penalized before the 2nd loop
The first cars had been waiting at the time control for a while now, but there was no sign of the Rally1 of Thierry Neuville. On Julien Moncet's face, worry could be seen because he had no news from his crew. While the championship leader Kalle Rovanperä joined his assistance, the Belgians finally presented themselves, but pushing their mount on which the engine was cut.
On the path bordering the media zone where the other competitors were stationed, Thierry Neuville shouted “push” as he negotiated the turn to enter the zone. Continuing their effort, the two men crossed the last meters separating them from the entrance panel while panting, even touching the sister machine ofOtt Tänak. Once in the tent with the commissioners, Martijn collapsed and remained on the ground for a long time, coughing and trying to catch his breath. For his part, the pilot let out a cry of rage before coming to see how his teammate was doing. Assisted by officials, the car was able to be accompanied to the structure Hyundai. " I don't know what happened, delivered Moncet very disappointed. I don't know if they managed to clock in on time either.. » In the end, they didn't succeed.

Thierry Neuville and Martijn Wydaeghe received 40 second penalties for the 4 minutes late in the score. With this sanction, the two men fall back to 4th place, now 52″7 behind Kalle Rovanperä while they were 2nd. They are 5 seconds behind Craig Breen, 3rd at 49″2.
