Dani Sordo is not going to hang up his suit anytime soon. If during the off-season his name had been mentioned to join the management of Hyundai Motorsport in the world championship, it seems that the Spaniard has not yet definitively said goodbye to his life as a driver.

At almost 42 years old (he will celebrate his birthday on May 2), the former Citroën representative in WRC will take over from Kris Meeke in the Portuguese championship this season. The latter had been the driver of the Hyundai Portugal team in 2023 and 2024.

Now, it is Dani Sordo who will contest the entire campaign consisting of eight rounds, the first of which is the Rali Serras de Fafe from March 7 to 8. He is expected to drive a Hyundai i20 Rally2. We are going to have fun this year in the Portuguese Rally Championship, " smiles the man with three WRC victories.

For his part, Kris Meeke is not leaving Portugal as he is once again engaged there… but with a new manufacturer. The Northern Irishman will indeed face Dani Sordo in a Yaris Rally2 after signing with Toyota a few days ago.
