- This Super Sunday of Rally Kenya's start started on a much calmer basis than the day before! Under a radiant sun, far from the grayness and rain of Saturday, the Rally1 drivers are still on the attack on this day where 10 points will be distributed through the Super Sunday and the Power Stage. On this very early special, it is Ott Tänak who set the fastest time on SS17. The Estonian set the fastest time in 6:43 on this 4-kilometer Mzabibu special, on a much more passable – although still wet – road than on Saturday.
- In the fight for the podium, Takamoto Katsuta did not have a very good performance on this special. The Japanese driver spun and hit – at low speed – a hay bale on the inside of the bend. A mishap that cost him a few seconds and now relegates him to 40 seconds behind Thierry Neuville for 3rd place in the general classification.
- After his two retirements at the start of the weekend, Adrien fourmaux returned to the fight this Sunday morning, with the aim of picking up some points on this Super Sunday and saving a very difficult Kenyan weekend for the driver HyundaiThe Frenchman set the 6th time in this SS17, 9 seconds behind the benchmark set by Ott Tänak.
- In the overall standings, Elfyn Evans still holds a very large lead of 1:51 over Ott Tänak and 7:4 over Thierry Neuville. The Welshman, who set the 29th fastest time in the 5th special, is managing his lead while staying in contact with the Hyundais to secure some important championship points.
