Kenya – SS4: Rovanperä attacks and escapes in the lead
  • And three for Kalle Rovanperä! The Finn won a third consecutive scratch in as many special stages this Friday morning. The pilot Toyota dominated the long Kedong special, 30 kilometers long, with a fantastic time of 15'42″1, 11″1 better than his closest pursuer, Ott Tänak.
  • Overall, the two-time reigning world champion widened his lead at the top of the Safari Rally and now has a 15”5 lead over Esapekka Lappi and a 16”8 lead over Ott Tänak.
  • Thierry Neuville (+26″3), victim of a puncture in SS3, had to ride with a Hyundai damaged… and with a mask to protect yourself from dust. The Belgian still lost a little time, particularly with a recalcitrant hybrid system, and is now in 6th place, 48 seconds behind the leader.
  • Very cautious special for Adrien fourmaux (+47″7): the Frenchman complained of poor adjustments, in particular the ride height being too low. The pilot M-Sport is relegated to 1'14″6 behind Kalle Rovanperä.
