End of series for Ott Tänak. It was Kalle Rovanperä who was responsible for slowing down the Estonian, who had been untouchable since the start of the day on Friday. In this short but very fast special stage at Kengen Geothermal (13,18 km), the double world champion achieved his first scratch of the weekend thanks to a time of 7'03"4 which allowed him to overtake Thierry Neuville and Ott Tänak by 1“1 and 1“3 respectively.
Overall, nothing really changed as the gaps were rather tight. Ott Tänak nevertheless managed to gain even more air on Elfyn Evans, whom he now holds 19 seconds behind. Kalle Rovanperä, who set the fastest time, remains in 3rd place and has dropped back under the 3-second mark.
Penalized one minute this Friday morning for checking in late after leaving service, Thierry Neuville received another penalty: 10 seconds this time for a false start. He is now more than 1 minute 30 seconds behind.
