A dream come true for Mathieu Franceschi. After proving himself at the national level (French Gravel Rally Champion in 2022) and continental level (vice-champion ofERC in 2024), the Frenchman is moving up a gear and launching himself into WRC2 this season. The 25-year-old driver will make his world championship debut at the Rally from the Canary Islands (April 24-27) with a brand new car, as he moves from the Skoda Fabia to the Toyota Yaris in Rally2. Last year, in the ERC, Mathieu Franceschi finished 2nd in the Spanish ERC event, behind Yoann Bonato.

“Since I was little, I dreamed of rallying, of speed, of adrenaline. A dream that seemed out of reach… until today. After 10 years of sacrifices, efforts and incredible encounters, it is becoming reality: I am launching myself into WRC2 at the wheel of the Toyota GR Rally2, Mathieu Franceschi is delighted. Nothing was written in advance. No shortcuts, just a conviction: when you believe in it and surround yourself with the right people, nothing is impossible. I am living this adventure thanks to exceptional support: my family, AMD Motorsport, my partners… Without you, this project would never have seen the light of day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
“But the story is only just beginning. The program is under construction, and we still have room for those who want to join the adventure. Together, we can go even further! First stop: Canary Islands, end of April. Sun, abrasive asphalt, and crazy special stages… the perfect way to dive in! Thanks to everyone who supports me. This adventure is as much yours as it is mine. Now, let’s get to the fight… and I promise, I’ll try to keep the car on all four wheels!”
