Monte-Carlo – SS17: Fourmaux succeeds in his bet and will play for victory!

The Rallye Monte-Carlo is fully relaunched before the Power Stage: if Sébastien Ogier still leads ahead of Elfyn Evans, Adrien Fourmaux has made up half of his deficit in SS17 thanks to a better choice of tires. If the Turini is dry, the Northerner could even be in the running for victory!

  • Le Rally Monte-Carlo 2025 will be decided in the last special! The tire choices of each driver have completely changed the dynamics of this last day of racing! In difficulty during SS16 after having chosen to take four super-soft tires and two studded tires, Adrien fourmaux made his bet work in a much drier and less slippery SS17. The Frenchman signed the scratch with a 23″9 advantage over Sébastien Ogier, which was equipped with two studded tires on this special.
  • The pilot Hyundai, now 3rd overall after regaining the upper hand on Ott Tänak, has made up half of his deficit on the leader of the Rallye Monte-Carlo… and could even win the event at the end of the Power Stage (17,92 km long)! With a deficit of 22″2 on Sébastien Ogier, Adrien Fourmaux will start with a big tyre advantage in the last special. If the Col du Turini is dry, the Northerner could set a huge time and perhaps, take a totally crazy victory!
  • Elfyn Evans, also equipped with two studded tires, is now only 4″0 ahead of Adrien Fourmaux and sees his 2nd place under threat. Ott Tänak also lost big in this 17th special, and is now threatened by Kalle Rovanperä. The Finn is on the same tire strategy as Adrien Fourmaux with four super-soft tires and could steal the Estonian's 4th place in the Power Stage.
  • This last day of racing claimed another victim in the Rally1 ranks: after Takamoto Katsuta and Sami Pajari in SS16, it was Grégoire Munster's turn to make a mistake in SS17. The Belgian understeered in a right-hand bend, carrying too much speed, and hit the embankment on the left before spinning. A sad end to a rather interesting weekend this weekend for the driver M-Sport, who could still claim a Top 10.
