Difficult for the drivers to launch without restraint into the 22,50 km of the 12th Puhoi special while the Auckland region was still drowned in rain!

Good resolutions that could have inspired Takamoto Katsuta, then 5th overall, who made a mistake at the start of the special and had to abandon his Toyota. Craig Breen managed to reach the finish despite a left rear wing torn off during an off-piste excursion.

Sébastien Ogier had, by his own admission, a good special but had to once again concede 6″6 to Rovanperä who bagged another scratch. Ott Tänak found a little rhythm but could not do better than a third place, 7″8 behind Kalle.
