April 1-2

Outsider on his Fabia S2000, Puppo brilliantly won, continuing his harvest from the start of the season. Winning the first 3 scratch times despite learning his Fiesta WRC, Lions finished the 1st stage as leader, 14” ahead of Puppo and 26” ahead of De Meyer. Big favorite with 11 victories on this terrain, he was waiting for the long ES the next day to recover. Lions nevertheless still stunned their opponents in the 2nd stage by winning the SS4 (Col de Bleine, 26 km). But, victim of a broken universal joint in SS5, then a Lockheed leak, the leader suddenly plunged in the standings. It was the turn of De Meyer (206 WRC) to lead the charge by winning SS6. But this in turn was stopped at the end of rally (alternator), leaving Puppo on the top step of the podium in front of the regulars Capanna and Catudal. The Gr. F2000 saw four leaders succeed one another before returning to Viano, while Bacchetti won in Gr. N. Finally, note the formidable domination in VHC of Delecour (Audi Quattro) whose times would have allowed him to appear in the Virtual 3rd place overall in Modern! Rene Alezra
