Driver François Wenger died on Sunday afternoon, just after the 10th special stage of the Rallye des Vins Mâcon, of a heart attack.

Rallye des Vins Mâcon – An edition mourned by the death of a driver

The great celebration of Rally des Vins Mâcon was tarnished by a tragedy on Sunday afternoon. François Wenger, driver for the Chazal Technologie Racing team at the wheel of theAlpine No. 19, died. At the finish of the tenth special between Bissy and Chissey-lès-Mâcon, the 41-year-old from Mâcon suffered a heart attack. Despite the first aid provided on site, then his transport by helicopter to Mâcon hospital, the pilot did not survive.
