- The start of the day this Saturday is, for the moment, turning to the advantage of Sébastien Ogier ! The French of Toyota wins this SS12 and takes his third scratch of the weekend in Portugal. The eight-time world champion, who was 7″0 behind before the start of this special, gains 2″6 from the Estonian. He is therefore only 4″6 behind the driver Hyundai overall. The latter took second place in this 12 km long SS17,69, with a changing surface, between sand and mud, and tricky because of stones in certain places.
- Behind the two untouchables, Kalle Rovanperä, winner of the rally previous in the Canary Islands, takes third place in the special. He started the day better than his Toyota teammate, Takamoto Katsuta, and took advantage of the opportunity to steal his provisional place on the podium in the general classification.
- Adrien fourmaux, who can no longer hope for anything in the general classification after breaking his front left suspension yesterday afternoon, still took the start this Saturday morning. The French Hyundai driver will open the road all day, ahead of the four Ford Puma Rally1s of M-Sport. Currently out of the running in this Rally of Portugal, will they do better today?
- Finally, in Rally2, Yohan Rossel started the day well by winning the overall stage ahead of Oliver Solberg! The Frenchman, well behind the Swede in the general classification, took advantage of the situation to take 2nd place from the Briton Gus Greensmith. Pierre-Louis Loubet's 6th place in this SS12 is also worth noting. The M-Sport driver gained a place overall, now sitting in 6th place.
