  • At this rate, from this Saturday noon, the rally Portugal will have a new leader! Indeed, Sébastien Ogier, signed his fourth scratch of the weekend during SS13 and is now only 2 seconds behind in the general classification on Ott Tänak ! The Frenchman is in great form at the start of the second day, and his choice to use soft tires seems to be paying off so far. The eight-time world champion beat his teammate at Toyota, Takamoto Katsuta.
  • The Japanese driver, who set a scratch yesterday, attacked hard throughout the stage and only lost 0 seconds to Ogier. This allowed him to reclaim provisional third place overall, ahead of another Toyota driver, Kalle Rovanperä.
  • Leading the Portuguese event since yesterday morning, Tänak isn't giving up. But he's not helped by the events of the race. In this tricky SS13, with sand, mud, and even ruts dug in places, the Estonian suffered a puncture in the final kilometers. This was probably due to the numerous stones present everywhere due to the riders' constant passing. It remains to be seen whether the 2019 world champion will be able to hold off the Frenchman and avoid misfortune in the final special of the morning, the longest of the weekend in Portugal.
  • In Rally2, Gus Greensmith took the win on SS13. This marked his second stage win of the weekend. He finished ahead of Finland's Roope Korhonen and Yohan Rossel. Oliver Solberg remains the clear leader in the provisional standings. The Swede now leads the Briton by 45 seconds and the Frenchman by 4 seconds.
