Portugal – SS16: Ott Tänak further consolidates his lead

• We don't stop anymore Ott Tänak ! The Estonian wins his seventh scratch of the weekend in Portugal, the third in a row! The driver Hyundai, despite damaged dirt roads, with ruts and lots of stones, took the best once again on Sébastien Ogier for 1″8. Logically, in the general classification, he strengthens his lead a little more with, now a cushion of 13″9 on the Frenchman. At the finish of this SS16, the driver Toyota was already happy to have finished without any problems given the difficult terrain. And simply admitted that Tänak was logically in the lead, because he was faster.
• Behind Kalle Rovanperä seems to be well established on the third step. In this 16th special, the Finn took 3rd place, exactly in the same time as Thierry Neuville. And 10 seconds ahead of Katsuta. Overall, he has an 4 second lead over his teammate. Meanwhile, the Belgian is closing dangerously on the Japanese, whose 11th place is now in danger. Indeed, only 4 seconds separate the two drivers.
• The top five now seems unattainable for the rest of the field in Portugal. Sixth-placed Sami Pajari (Toyota) is 5'6 behind Neuville and therefore more than 1 minutes behind Tänak.
• In Rally2, Oliver Solberg returned to victory by winning this SS16 ahead of Gus Greensmith (+3″) and Yohan Rossel (+5″9). Overall, the Swede now has a lead of 48″5 over the Briton and 57″1 over the Frenchman.
