- He was clearly the strongest this weekend on the dirt roads in Portugal and confirmed it again this Sunday. During SS23, the penultimate special stage of the day and of the event, Ott Tänak signed his fourth consecutive scratch, his eleventh in total since Friday! The Estonian beat two Toyota, that of Elfyn Evans, the championship leader (+5″2) and Kalle Rovanperä (+5″2).
- As a result, the pilot Hyundai steals second place in the general classification from the Finn! This is not a surprise as the gap between the two men has been melting like snow in the sun since the first special of the day. Tänak is therefore the new runner-up in Sébastien Ogier, with only 1″5 ahead of the Toyota driver! This promises to be an extremely spectacular Power Stage around Fafe.
- The Estonian is also well on his way to taking the 5 points awarded to the best driver on Super Sunday! Behind him, there's nothing much to report once again. Thierry Neuville, Takamoto Katsuta and Elfyn Evans are expected to take 4th, 5th and 6th place respectively in the Portuguese event.
- In Rally2, Yohan Rossel was once again the fastest in the 23rd special stage in Portugal! The Frenchman won by 2 seconds ahead of Oliver Solberg and 7 seconds ahead of Gus Greensmith. Overall, the Citroën driver consolidated his second place behind the Swede and likely extended a definitive gap with the Briton, with 5 seconds separating the two men before the Power Stage.
