Behind the wheel of his Ford Focus RS WRC, Olivier Marty concluded the first stage of the Rally of Rouergue 2016 in the lead with almost 1'20" ahead of Frédéric Raynal (Ford Fiesta R5), while Sylvain Michel completes the top three with his Skoda Fabia R5 at 1'25".
The day was marked by two violent crashes for Eric Brunson on SS1 and Pierre Roché in the second sector. The two Brunson crews – Mondon and Pierre and Martine Roché were taken to hospital where several fractures (ribs and vertebrae for Brunson and Mondon, ribs for Pierre Roché and pelvis for Martine Roché) were diagnosed.
