Engaged in the New Caledonian championship since the start of the season, Emmanuel Guigou, associated with local Michel Gaspard, offered the “Constructor” title to Renault after winning the rally de Poya at the wheel of the Clio R3. With this victory, the Vauclusien moves into second place in the “Driver” championship, 3,8 points behind the leader, New Zealander Brian Green (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo9). The title will be decided during the last round, the South Rally, organized on November 3 and 4.
