After the first two SS (8 and 9) of the second loop of the day, Jean-Michel Da Cunha (Citroën C4) seems to be heading towards victory in the Rally of Rouergue. If Olivier Marty (Ford Focus) had conceded another eight seconds in SS8, still disturbed by his gearbox, the former leader of the event did not show up at the stop point of SS9 after an exit from road.
Before the last timed sector of the rally, Da Cunha therefore has a lead of more than 2′ over Yoann Bonato (Peugeot 208 T16 R5). Jean-Marie Cuoq (Citroën C4), unhappy yesterday after his puncture, moved back into third position.
