With a redesigned course and a new hub (Aubagne), this event organized in the stronghold of Pagnol once again highlighted the talent of Mathieu Arzeno in the face of great adversity.

Winner of the event in 2015 and of the Rally Final contested here two years ago, the Provencal achieved another success despite discovering the Citroën C3 R5. Despite the insistent presence of Courchet (Skoda Fabia), victorious last year but betrayed by his mechanics in the 10th stage, Arzeno was never dethroned from his leading position, winning 11 of the 12 SS.

2nd place therefore went to Ciaramitaro, excellent for his debut with a Polo R5 and who, despite pressure from Bourcier, record holder for victories at Ste-Baume, made no mistakes. Among the headliners, Nicolas Ciamin (Fiat 124 Rally) had a difficult start to the race due to an electronic sensor which relegated him to 7th position in the scratch on the evening of the 1st stage.

With a car found the next day, the Niçois posted great performances against the 4-wheel drive, moving up to 4th place in the final. Delors (F2000), Abbruzzino (A) and Marsily (N) immediately destroyed any suspense by flying over their opponents.
