At an average speed of almost 129 km/h, the Sarsjöliden 1 special is undoubtedly one of the fastest in the Rally from Sweden, or even from the championship WRC. Elfyn Evans (Toyota) perfectly mastered this timed sector, finishing four tenths ahead of his teammate Kalle Rovanperä, who confirmed his good form at the start of the second day.
For the third Toyota, that of Takamoto Katsuta, things went much less well, the Japanese explaining that he had a lot of difficulties with his car, without really knowing why it did not react as he could have expected. With 1″9 dropped on this special, he slips to two seconds from Evans in the general standings, after having made a big comeback during SS9.
Ott Tänak remains third overall but had a very bad special, with the sixth time at 4″6. The Estonian was satisfied with a “everything is fine” at the finish. We know him well now, if Tänak is so laconic, it is because he was absolutely not confident at the wheel of his Hyundai i20 Rally1…
