After Julien Maurin at the opening of this second stage, Eric Brunson has just scored his first scratch of the day during the 9th special between Hucqueliers and Montcavrel at rally du Toucquet. On his Subaru Impreza WRC, he is 8 seconds ahead of Jean-Marie Cuoq, over whom he further increases his lead in the scratch ranking. Barring any major surprises, Eric Brunson should be able to easily win at the end of the day while the reigning French rally champion can now secure his second place overall, since he is 1?16??8 ahead of the current third, Pierre Roché.
