Paul Chieusse takes over the leadership of Rally Terre de Vaucluse at the end of the first stage for less than two seconds ahead of the Peugeot 307 WRC by Jean-Manuel Beuzelin. Stéphane Chambon still completes the provisional podium in his Subaru Impreza, four seconds behind second place. Stéphane Pellerey remains in ambush 16 seconds behind the top three. Germain Bonnefis completes the top five of the day in his Peugeot 207 S2000, 23 seconds behind the first 207 S2000 and 45 seconds behind his rival for the title.
