Sébastien Ogier starts the day off strong! The Frenchman won the first special in Sardinia by a hair's breadth ahead of the Belgian Thierry Neuville (+0″8) and his teammate Sami Pajari (+1″). Behind, Adrien fourmaux et Ott Tänak already concede 4 and 5 seconds respectively. Josh McErlean comes to place the first M-Sport just behind the two Hyundai.

Unfortunately, it was much more complicated for the others. Toyota, including championship leader Elfyn Evans, who led the way all day, and already lost more than 10 seconds to the eight-time world champion. This is also the case for Japanese driver Takamoto Katsuta. Both men were beaten by the two Ford Pumas of McErlean and Sesks.

In WRC2, four Skoda Fabia Rally 2s took the top four places in SS1! Lindholm won just ahead of Lauri (+0″), Zaldivar (+8″) and Heikkilä (+2″)! Behind him, in 6th place, was Léo Rossel at the wheel of his Citroën (+3″). His brother Yohan finished 8th (+5″). The two French drivers are in 5th and 3th place overall.
