Rally Sardinia – SS15: Tänak fastest, Ogier goes straight ahead

It smells very good for Sébastien Ogier in Sardinia! Second in the 15th special of this Sardinian event, behind Ott Tänak (+2 seconds), the Frenchman is heading straight for his fifth victory in Italy and his second consecutive success this season! In an SS5 made tricky by stones and ruts, the eight-time world champion clearly assured himself, without taking any risks.

The icing on the cake: the Gapençais is well on his way to pocketing the 5 points awarded to the best driver of Super Sunday! Behind him, Ott Tänak and Kalle Rovanperä will take second and third place of the day, but also of the rally Italian. As a reminder, the three men had already reached the podium together in Portugal, and in the same order...

Elfyn Evans and Thierry Neuville will also take the last points awarded during Super Sunday. While the Welshman will finish fourth in the event, the Belgian, on the other hand, is only seventh. Enough to make a bad operation in the championship. Finally, a weekend to completely forget for Adrien fourmaux in Sardinia. The Frenchman is not at all in the game this Sunday.

In WRC2, Oliver Solberg continued his flawless run this Sunday! Winner of the penultimate special stage of the event, he even took the lead by taking advantage of Gryazin's puncture! The Swede, who will therefore win the rally, will not, however, pocket any points, as he was not scheduled to compete. Yohan Rossel, 13th in this SS15 and who retired yesterday, will therefore retain the championship lead.
