And three for Sébastien Ogier ! This Saturday morning, in Sardinia, the Frenchman won his third scratch of the weekend by easily dominating SS7. Thus, the driver Toyota beat his teammate, Kalle Rovanperä, by more than 3″, and Ott Tänak (Hyundai), 3″7.
Overall, the eight-time world champion now has a small lead: 7 seconds over Adrien fourmaux, only fourth in this seventh special, more than 5″ behind his compatriot. The Estonian is still third in this provisional classification, more than 11 seconds behind the Toyota driver.
The podium already seems to be in sight, as Rovanperä, now 4th behind Sami Pajari, is more than 25 seconds behind. Championship leader Elfyn Evans will not be able to expect much from this second day in Sardinia, as he is already more than 1 seconds behind Ogier.
In WRC2, Emil Lindholm won the 7th special stage of the weekend ahead of Oliver Solberg (+1 seconds) and Frenchman Yohan Rossel (+6 seconds). Overall in WRC3, Nicolay Gryazin still leads, but his lead over the Finn is now only 1 seconds apart. The Frenchman completes the podium, 2 seconds behind the Bulgarian.
