Ott Tänak (Toyota) a remporté sa troisième spéciale consécutive au Rally of Germany by completing the 9,27km from Wadern-Weiskirchen in 5'06''7, almost 2 seconds ahead of his teammate Esapekka Lappi. Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) a suivi à quelques dixièmes devant son rival pour le titre Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport) et Dani Sordo (Hyundai). Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) a suivi à quelques dixièmes en précédant Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) et les Citroën de Craig Breen and Mads Ostberg. Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) and Teemu Suninen (M-Sport) failed by more than 7 seconds.

Ott Tänak returns to service with more than 7 seconds ahead of Sébastien Ogier, while Thierry Neuville follows the Frenchman by less than 4 seconds. Esapekka Lappi maintains 4th place with 2 seconds ahead of Dani Sordo. Jari-Matti Latvala took 6th place, one second ahead of Elfyn Evans. Andreas Mikkelsen remains stuck in 8th place seeing Craig Breen and Mads Ostberg return who complete the Top 10 ahead of Teemu Suninen.
