Ott Tänak (Toyota) a remporté sa 4e spéciale consécutive au Rally of Germany by completing the 22km of Mittelmosel in 12'36''9 with 1''6 ahead of Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport) et près de 9 secondes sur Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) plus en retrait sur ce parcours. Le Belge a été devancé par Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) qui a devancé Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) et Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai). Craig Breen (Citroën) followed 9s behind just ahead of Dani Sordo (Hyundai), Teemu Suninen (M-Sport) and Esapekka Lappi (Toyota).

Mads Ostberg (Citroën) no longer has the weapons to fight with his loss of engine power and is 17s behind. It was a mechanic's mistake when reassembling the front bumper which caused the high temperatures and power loss.

Ott Tänak now has a 9-second lead over Sébastien Ogier, while Thierry Neuville is now 14 seconds behind the Frenchman. Elfyn Evans maintains her 4th position for 4 tenths ahead of Jari-Matti Latvala. Dani Sordo climbs to 6th place for 3 tenths ahead of Esapekka Lappi. Craig Bren retains 8th place for 6 tenths ahead of Andreas Mikkelsen. Teemu Suninen enters the Top 10 at the expense of Mads Ostberg.
