Back on the road after assistance at the Algarve stadium, Sébastien Ogier and Jari-Matti Latvala perfectly negotiated the fifth special of the rally from Portugal. The Citroën and Ford drivers both completed the 22,99 kilometers of the ES in 13, compared to 50 in this morning. The Finn, however, is ahead of the Frenchman by a few tenths of a second and is now in second place. Sebastian Loeb, in this position at the start of the special, concedes 3??4 to the duo. As for Mikko Hirvonen, 4th in the special at 3??6, also lost a place and appears in 4th position just 6??9 behind his teammate.
Petter Solberg and Kimi Raïkkönen both suffered punctures. The Norwegian lost little, 23??1, which is not the case for the Finn who dropped 1?33?? in his misadventure.
