After his rollover in SS8, Henning Solberg was able to return to the track. But the impact seems to have caused more serious damage to the Ford Fiesta. The Norwegian is forced to retire. THE rally had nevertheless started for him in the most beautiful way.
At the wheel of his DS3, his brother, Petter, encounters no problems. He signed his first scratch of the season, consistently ahead of the two official Ford drivers Hirvonen (+1”4) and Latvala (+2”3). Spearhead of Citroën, Petter Solberg was nevertheless convinced of having a bad pace. “They will be much faster behind me” he admitted at the finish of the special. The end result must delight him.
PG Andersson shines again, while Mads Ostberg limits the damage. He retains his first place in the general classification. Loeb (+5 »3) and Ogier (+5 »9) were seemingly powerless against the armada of Nordic pilots. Reversing the trend will not be easy.
