If Pirelli is currently the only manufacturer present in WRC, an opening to competition could have been considered for future seasons. Jean Todt, president of the FIA, was present this weekend in Portugal for the sixth round of the WRC and gave his opinion on the subject. “ We will continue to have a single tire manufacturer “, he conceded. Pirelli?s three-year contract with the WRC ends at the end of the year but is expected to extend for a further three years.
